Commercial Door Locks That Work

by Rex Freiberger

Nobody really thinks about the locks on the doors at the businesses they go to every day. It's not until you go to the store after hours and find it closed or a child turns the lock to 'see what would happen' and holds up people coming in and out that people start thinking about the heavy duty commercial locks at most stores and businesses.

Commercial door locks are manufactured to be very secure and nearly impossible to breach. Therefore, business organizations are robbed most often either during business hours when employees are present or during nighttime hours when the glass of a door or window is broken.

These deviants will do just about anything to conquer the enhanced security set forth by many business's commercial door locks. These purveyors of crime have even gone to the extreme length of driving a stolen vehicle through the side of a building to commit a robbery. For some, this method proved less futile than attempting to thwart the strength of a high quality commercial door lock.

Commercial door locks are often used to keep a business safe and are easily installable. Locks contained in doorknobs or handles like the ones used at residential properties are often used by smaller businesses. This type are often not the most secure choice. A lock system using a bar that inserts into the ground or the ceiling is more complicated but much more secure.

Many commercial door locks these days are controlled by changeable combinations. This is a way to cut down on the costs of having the locks changed when an employee loses or does not return a key. This also allows some locking systems to be connected to the business's burglar alarm, so that opening the door any way other than with the correct code triggers an alarm.

To ensure the safety of your business, it is imperative to keep track of the keys to your commercial door locks. Former employees and their family members who have keys are the most likely people to use them for negative reasons. Whether your employee leaves at their own request or at yours, it is very important to retrieve the keys to your commercial locks.

It's not until you go to the store after hours and find it closed or a child turns the lock to 'see what would happen' and holds up people coming in and out that people start thinking about the heavy duty commercial locks at most stores and businesses. Commercial door locks are known to be tamper-proof. Numerous varieties of door locks can be installed to protect a company's assets. Small firms may utilize only basic door knobs with locks embedded in them, as people do in their homes. These locks are very easy to pick however.
